[pct-l] Starting a thru-hike in January from San Diego?

Even in Southern California the mountains can give you terrible conditions
and  severe weather even as late mid to late April, and you are in the
Lagunas  the second day out.
The Grand Enchantment Trail (GET) in Arizona and New Mexico is one to
consider for that time of the year. Maybe that is the one Cruz Control is
referring to here.
