[pct-l] Starting a thru-hike in January from San Diego?

The AZT is about 800 miles long and took us about 45 days. North of the
Grand Canyon you would be in lots of snow in February. The terrain is
relatively flat, but route finding would not be easy. Also the highest point
is almost 10,000 feet and is less than 20 miles from Mexico - more snow.

I'd also advise adopting a different plan. How about taking a in-depth look
at doing the Arizona Trail, although February and March would be better
start dates. Snow and possible flooding would even be factors there, but
possibly not insurmountable. Cruz Control
