Subject: Help Needed, Bob Holtel 80th Birthday Quest

In 1985 Bob Holtel started quite an adventure as he attempted to run the
entire length of the <http://www.pcta.org/> Pacific Crest Trail. He
completed this arduous journey over three summers and his adventures spawned
the book
<http://www.amazon.com/Sweat-Survival-Pacific-Crest-Trail/dp/1553063023/ref=
sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1299463422&sr=8-1> Soul, Sweat & Survival on the
Pacific Crest Trail.

Now, with a rekindled fire of adventure burning in his soles, Bob hopes to
once again complete the Pacific Crest Trail over two summers ending with a
finale in Campo, California on his 80th birthday. Bob successfully completed
the northern leg, from Lassen to the Canadian border in 2010. He is
currently planning the southern leg from Lassen to the Mexican border and
will set out in June 2011.

Bob needs help on June 18th and 19th. On the 18th needs someone to slack
pack his gear from Canebrake Road to his night stop at Spanish Needle Creek
where the fire trail from west meets it. On 19th take gear to Walker Pass
Campground.

If you can help either one or both days, please contact me (Russ Garner) off
list at Russell.garner at att.net or by phone at 661-378-0288.

Happy Trails,

Russ Garner
