I am going to attempt to speak, albeit unauthorizedly, for all past and
future PCT hikers who have a grain of humanity:
 
To the Saufleys, Andersons, Dinsmores, and the rest of the angel crew,
thank you.  
 
Thank you for what you have done.  For the expense, the hauling, the
cooking, the patience, the sacrifice, the generosity, the shade, the
chairs, the music, the computers, the encouragement, the laundry, the
showers, the gas.
 
Thank you for caring, and crying, and laughing.
 
Thank you for turning the notion that everyone is self-serving on its
head.
 
We wouldn't love you less if you stopped.
 
You are in an elite of folks that are never forgotten, not even in the
course of a lifetime.
 
People who have never met you stand in awe at what they know you have
done.
 
People dream of being a fraction of the gift you have been.
 
You are purest gold.
