I just spoke with Momma Moab. They left the southern Sierra and came up this way hoping to find some trail not snowed in, not with much success. They went in at Seiad Valley and made it to Cook and Green pass till they hit lots of snow. They descended at Tim Cup Trail and made it to Road 600 and road walked out from there. She did say with a GPS you'd at least be able to find the trail. They did not have one. They have been so frustrated with the snow they are going to hike on the CA/OR coast for two weeks and then either do the Marbles or back to the Sierra. With our temperatures really heating up, within a few weeks it'll be more doable but still not snow free. Momma Moab said the ran into another couple who tried but could not get through the Marbles.

Long and short is, for the next two to three weeks, this area may not be the place to hop around to avoid snow.

are we there yet

...going to the mountains is going home.
