Lloyd Gust told us about an unfortunate thru hiker who wasn't able to pick
up his resupply box at the Bend post office. Apparently the hiker had a
first name that could be interpreted as both a male and female name. The
Bend post office decided it was a female name, so when the hiker came to
pick up the package, they post office said they didn't have it. Lloyd went
in the next day and the post office promptly gave it to him.

Personally, I think it would be easier to use first and middle initials and
last name. Then, hopefully you can avoid this situation.

Just saying.
