No way, is that a folding table in one of the pics?

Wow, we've had some weather here lately. I guess this isn't going to
be a mild spring after all. I hope I didn't jinx it with my
prediction last month. Sorry about that. :(

Here is a trip report from a trip in the wilderness near Santa
Barbara where I usually go hiking.
Two people go for a backpack on the Sisquoc River:

If nothing else, look at the FOOD they ate! Wow, that's almost enough
to make me switch to heavy trucker mode.

Here's a video of the river. This is pretty far upstream along this
river. I can only imagine what it looked like downstream at the
confluence of the Manzana and the Sisquoc, where they had been two
days earlier.

What do you suppose Hauser Creek looked like last weekend? Or
Whitewater Creek! I bet that's one scary creek!

Dozens of people were rescued last weekend including a cub scout
troop and three Sierra Club groups out backpacking. Nobody expected
it. If you all think So Cal is the desert, well, maybe not so much
this year.

My new prediction: Lots of little creeks will be flowing in So Cal
meaning where the guide book says "seasonal stream" it'll be in
season! Oops. Hope I didn't jinx that, too. But none of you whipper-
snappers use the guide book anymore so never mind.
