If you know their schedule, you can send a letter to them General  
Delivery to the post office at a location further up the trail by  
about two weeks from where they are now.

If you are planning to be out of touch, you and your important others  
back home will have to be okay with the fact that getting information  
to you may take a week or so. That's kinda how backpacking just is,  
you know. People forget that in the era of instant, always-on  
communication.
