[pct-l] PCT thru-riding

Good afternoon!
 
For first-time PCT horse riders or animal packers either northbound or
southbound, I would recommend spending a great deal of time
communicating with others who have done a thru-ride or many, many
section rides to assist in your consideration of a thru-ride.  I
wouldn't think a successful thru-ride is possible without it.  Between
logistics, animal sources and characteristics, transportation,
ice/treefall/other perils, resupply, etc. wow!  A few "show up and go"
hikers are successful thru-hikers, but I have never heard of it on
horseback.
