Hey Laura, which part of the PCT are you close to? If in CA, a seven day
stretch on the JMT/PCT is fabulous, doesn't matter what part, it's all
gorgeous. Or just go in at North Lake and hike over Muir Pass into LeConte
Canyon and out to South Lake, a classic loop. Or into the Minarets up to
Lake Ediza and then on to Thousand Island. But given the snow, late July
would be best. If you're in the north, hike into Goat Rocks, or a bit of
the Northern Cascades. Or hike north from Dunsmuir and do a bit of the
Trinities and Marbles. Ah, but then there's the hike from Hood to Cascade
Locks. The list goes on. It's all good. But if they're right about the
380 mile a day thing, hell you'll see it all anyway. Have fun!
