Ha, I enjoyed ready the replies to the weapon question. But realistically. . . I was a solo-female hiker on the CT and I carried my great grandpas .32 not for bears or lions but for psychopaths! I was told never to pull it out unless I intending on shooting in and never tell anyone I had it. And when I hike the PCT I have new ultra light weight gun that I plan on packing!
