Joe

I would check out the thru-hiker blogs at the www.pcta.org website. Just
click on Journals from the home page. Lots of people have gear lists on
their blogs (including my own) and you can get some ideas. Two years is a
long way off and there will likely be many new light-weight gear options so
perhaps holding off on big purchases would make sense?

After I retire in 2 years my wife and I will hike the entire PCT. We
are starting to gear up. What light weight backpacks are popular for
this? Is there a list of equipment makes and models that worked? In my
1976 A.T. through hike I carried an average of 55 pounds. We want to
walk the PCT with a base of about 20 or less. Thank you :-)
