[pct-l] how do long distance hikers make a living?

Wow, working at McMurdo Station would be an adventure of its own! A  
friend of mine told me that for every researcher there are several  
times as many cooks, janitors and other workers.

P.S. To Irish. If you are THAT Irish, thanks so much for the  
snickers, oreos and Coke at Santiam Pass. Hit the spot for me in 2009.

P.P.S. Way to go running 7 miles on Mt Diablo, Shroomer! No way I  
could do that.

P.P.P.S Ticking down the clock to my 6-month anniversary working at  
the University. I will have survived my probation and be able to use  
the vacation time I'll have earned. Might have to hike in the Los  
Padres instead of the PCT though.
