[pct-l] thru hike

I think this is one of those academic argurments that makes no real
difference.  The person doing the hiking knows if they are a thru-hiker or
not.  If they need to be off the trail for sometime; they know if their
thru-hike is done or not.  Who else really cares except the hiker?
