Yep, somethings getting deep alright. 

Actually, this is just the combination of several upcoming technologies. I would be surprised to see something similar in the next decade. 

But for heavy loads I still like a welded external frame pack. Add zerk fittings and fill the frame with helium. Or, for dual use if you are brave and careful, fill with hydrogen and use to run a fuel cell to charge that droid and burn in your stove.
