Mike Herrera hasn't given any indication that he isn't accepting
hikers this year.

If you are above Idyllwild around May 13th, it's likely that snow will
not be an issue on that part of PCT by then.  This based on my being
there around that time in 2008 and 2009, and the amount of snow this
year.  Anything is possible, but this is likely, IMO.  In that case,
entry and exit via Devil's Slide would be the norm.

As for the loop, I can't say much as I haven't done it.  I did set off
that way in 2008 from the Fuller Ridge junction, but eventually ran
into snow higher up and wasn't prepared to do route-finding.  If
Halfmile's maps don't cover the whole loop, you may want to get the
Tom Harrison map.
