[pct-l] Sawyer Squeeze

Agree with Yogi on the Sawyer Squeeze. Bags are crap. We broke all Sawyer
bags, but i would say that we also broke a Platypus and two Evernew
bladders so I think the unit is rough on bladders in general. One must be
patient and I do think Sawyer is right that you can't Squeeze too hard (I
know, lame, considering the name of the unit!). That is, unless, someone
comes up with a reservoir that is more "squeeze proof." I would also
emphasize that back flushing frequently is pretty critical. We gave up on
the Squeeze at Manmoth Lakes on our PCT thru and had our Steripen Classic
shipped to us. I guess I could be labelled as lazy, but we were just tired
of squeezing and the Steripen has been wonderful -- I think their
reliability has improved over the last few year and we find we can go about
3 to 4 weeks on 4 AA lithiums with two people. Cheers.

Subject: [pct-l] PCT Sawyer Squeeze Feedback

Hey All,

Do any of you hikers on the trail this year have any feedback so far on the

Sawyer Squeeze??

Wondering how it is performing for thru-hikers so far.

Thanks!
