Remember any government is full of bureaucrats and each one will interpret
the same rule THEIR way. I have a friend who lives in Vermont and has a
DWI on his record (over 5 years ago). He needed to go to Canada on his job.
He went up to the border and met with the Agents. He filled out some forms
and generally jumped through whatever hoops they wanted. I'm not sure if he
got clearance that day or if there were any fees, but now he can cross the
border anytime.

Hello Everyone,

I just got a response from the Canadian Border Services Agency denying my
application to enter Canada via the PCT based on a misdemeanor on my record
from 10 years ago. I was honest on the application and explained it to
them. Apparently, NO ONE is allowed to enter Canada if they have ANY kind
of record, no matter how minor it is. Ever. Bummer. Does anyone have
experience with this? Any strategies as far as reaching the U.S.- Canadian
border and turning around? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Mark
