We haven't had much rain in So Cal this year. If it continues like  
this, a late May start date may prove a bit dry. A flip-flop may work  
better, although it'll still be dry in October when you return to  
finish. Another option is to go to the Mexican border and see for  
yourself. If too hot and dry, figure out a way to jump forward.
