Diane,
Proper trail etiquette is not much different from etiquette anywhere else - be kind, be considerate of others, talk softly, don't be greedy, use common sense.
E.g., w hen several hikers are trying to hitch into town and a car stops but can't take everyone, the ones at the road crossing first get the first ride.
You'll have a great time.

Subject: [pct-l] Trail Etiquette Top Ten for a Rookie
Hi Everyone,
My name is Diane and I will be going on my first thru-hike this April. I am greatly blessed to be hiking with 2 Triple Crown hikers.
I have been reading all the informative and very amusing posts and would like to learn more on basic trail etiquette.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Diane (no trail name yet)
