reading thru the wikipedia article, the rash may become infected and then
the infection is its own problem. If neosporin worked, great.

As for me, Ithis fall Igot a serious rash on and between my buttocks which
steadily got worse so I sought medical attention at my local VA clinic.
First they thought it was fungal and tried cloriatrimozole (spelling?) They
they thought it was infected so they tried triple antibiotic ointment
(generic neosporin). Still got worse. Finally I was seen by a dermatologist
-- first she thought it was combination fungal and allergic as I was
apparently allergic to the two previous meds and she prescribed different
and more powerful antifungals. Still bad. Finally hydrocortisone and a
biopsy which identified psoriasis. Different steroid treatment and it
quickly subsided but I am apparently stuck with the psoriasis forever.
Maybe it will go away at least for a while.
