Thanks, Chuck!

As we see it, the pct-l forum is a place where people can go to find out how
previous thru hikers experienced and accomplished their hikes, successful in
part or whole. HYOH is the objective. Any and all input to help aspiring
thrus better Plan and Prepare for their hikes is based on the shared
experiences of those who've gone before, what "worked" and what didn't for
them and so forth. A wide variety of input is good.

Thrus need to know that what "works" for one or several may not "work" for
them (since they are different people hiking in their own unique
circumstances) when they are out on the trail. Based on all this great input
on the pct-l, they can go test these varied ideas and experiences for
themselves during their P & P stage so that their own thru hike goes well,
is fun, pain and discomfort is minimized, resupplies are well-timed and
placed, and they can stay on the trail long enough to make it all the way.
Self discovery is really the big side-benefit of such an adventure and, I
think, why so many previous thrus stay on the pct-l to help others.

Good morning, all,

I hope Ned hasn’t given up on PCT-L. While he and I disagree on about 75%
of the issues discussed – I’ve said that we are “bookends” of the List –
the value of PCT-L is making available a wide variety of opinions so others
can know the possibilities and be their own judge.

I only object to people who discuss politics or people who bad-mouth Peanut
M&Ms.
