Note that the one month and three month outlooks predict higher than
normal in Oregon and Washington, and equal chances of above and below in
northern California, and below average from Tahoe south.
While I'm not doing a long hike this summer, I can plan being in the
high Sierra sometime in mid-July where last year this wasn't even a
planning possibility at this point.

The above website is fun to sort through. I know that prior to the
mid-nineties I never paid attention to these sorts of tools. I started
south from Lassen to Whitney in 1991 on June 7 (the day I stopped
smoking for good!!!) with no idea of snowpack. It just wasn't on the
radar then. I marvel at how web tools has changed our view of hiking...
