I several years I have owned and used several of the Marmot Precip products
and find them equal to and better than the other breathable rain
protection products out there.  As other people are pointing out that any
breathable rain product has limitations.  I found that keeping them clean
is directly proportional to their water protection properties.  If you are
really generating lots of body perspiration; your going to get as wet from
the inside as the outside.  What has sold me on Marmot company is that my
original precip jacket started to de-laminate inside the coat after several
years of use.  I read the Marmot warranty and it said there products were
warrantied against product defect, so I sent it back.  They gave me a
credit for a new jacket.  Now that is a company that stands behind their
products.  I now own three Marmot rain jackets, of varying weight and a set
of precip rain pants.
