If you absolutely must start in June, join the pack and enter the High
Sierra.  If this season plays out the way it's looking, it may be a good
year for an early entry into the High Sierra.  Super gorgeous and you get
the experience of meeting some of the thru hikers.  Or pick any other spot
on the PCT that is open.  If you're section hiking anyway, use it to your
advantage and pick a place you'll have some fun and not such a grueling
experience.  The deserts are so beautiful in April.  Save that beginning
part for a year you can do it while it's beautiful and not at a time that
it feels like it's trying to kill you.
