[pct-l] JMT in September

Howdy,
Lurkin a long while and now I have a question I haven't seen (lately). I am wanting to do a N-S JMT thru starting the last week of August this year. Any one think this sounds like a really super or really silly idea? What does Mt. Whitney tend to look like by the last week of September? Water? Reading beyond jmt.org and The Essential Guide? Aug. 27 is the earliest date I could reasonably expect to hit the trail. Thoughts?
