[pct-l] Bear incident "as serious as it gets"?

Which leads me to a question: in the last 10 or 15 years, has there ever
been an incident on the PCT where someone was actually physically injured
by a bear (or any other animal)?

I got stung by some mosquitos in 1994.  Ooops, that was 18 years ago.

When considering injuries by hypothermia, frostbite, sunstroke, dehydration, 
falls, and animal bites, I would accord animals last place.  In this 
consideration, humans are not animals.
