Boy this thread has gone on for a while.

Quick answer to your original question: No.

Every year on the long distance threads someone mentions this idea. It
usually dies fast.

Eric, go do a "regular PCT thru hike" learn about the
environment/challenges/experiences of this area and terrain. Once you
have completed a thru hike of the PCT you will be eminently qualified to
determine whether you will be able to do what you are proposing (and the
trail will still be there if you are).

Don't attempt to do this and then potentially put others, such as SAR, at
risk - as that is irresponsible.

After you have completed a thru hike - then re-look at this goal. Consider
this regular hike as required training.

FWIW, the first yoyo of the PCT took several regular thru hikes and a
couple of yoyo attempts before the knowledge and skill set was there to
complete it - I'm sure luck play a little part too.

So - No until you have already done a thru hike of the PCT it is
impossible to do a hike as you are proposing.
