[pct-l] Thru hiking

LadyFish,
you should have no major problems with hiking the PCT after completing the
AT.  The major differences you are going to encounter is learning to manage
water and the snow and streams.  Because you have to carry more H2O in some
parts of the PCT and the resupplies are a tad bit farther apart then the AT
keeping pack weight down is more helpful on the PCT than the AT - you
probably never carried 12+ pounds of water on the AT and it is harder to
resupply every couple of days like parts of the AT.    If you are heading
NOBO there is no reason to attempt to find a hiking partner before heading
out.  There will be plenty of hikers to hook up with.  The snow and stream
crossings won't come up until after about 800 miles on the trail- by then
if you so desire you will have hiking partners.  If not you will find a
bunch of anxious hikers at Kennedy Meadows just begging for folks to hike
thru this section with them.
