[pct-l] Problems on the PCT

How about the bears and deers that roam free in the forest and crap and pee in the streams? I think a better solution to writing the USDA or the National forests administrators is to place an ad in Craiglist and sale all of your backpacking equipment and stay off the trails.  This is nature.  This is the way things have been for 1000's of years. Our forefathers managed live off the land and travel across the United States with cow, buffalo and many other types of animals crapping all over the place and they survived just fine. and none of them had water filters.
