To those, I would add:

RE: Onyx - Hitch to Onyx. If the store there fails you, either hitch or take
the county bus to Lake Isabella and back. There's another county bus between
LI and Bakersfield.

Muir Trail Ranch - no food or drink for sale there, but there is a good
hiker barrel if you're not real particular.
Sonora Pass - there's just a day-use only campground; we dug in a cache
there ahead of time. The closest facility is Kennedy Meadows North, 12
road-walking miles downhill to the west.
Belden - the resort store has a very limited inventory; restocking is
hit-and-miss, "whenever we get to it".

Section hikers have a big advantage - we can dig in caches. I did that at
Sonora Pass and Etna Summit. I would have also done it at Walker Pass had I
not exited and entered there at different times.

Thru hikers with both extra time and dollars could set their own caches by:

1. renting a car in Mojave; set cache at Walker Pass

2. renting a car in Mammoth Lakes (airport); set cache at Sonora Pass
