Just got back from an overnighter from Cottonwood bridge to Willow
Springs Rd. First of all, never walk through any stretch of the PCT
and mutter under your breath thank god I never have to do this again.
Because you just might. I have now done this segment 3 times!
The area around Cottonwood bridge is now a noisy wind farm. The
little roads to the turbines have been paved right across the trail
several times.
No desert carpets of flowers, but there were always little ones
blooming at my feet and a few hills covered in yellow flowers up at
the top. Saw some GIANT puffballs. One looked just like a skull
emerging out of the dirt.
Tylerhorse and Oak creek had water. The tiger shower did not. The
wind howled. There's a new little water cache up there now from Larry
and his dog Daniel who appear to live nearby.
Trailhacker continued north. He plans to go to Horseshoe meadows.
