No joke I passed out at my home working in yard today- in front of a cop, he called the Ambulance, fire truck..the cop caught me before I hit something.

Dehydration and low blood pressure. I had some "bug" last few days but felt better.

This can happen anytime to anyone.

It's possible the newly generated interest and notability of the PCT from the  book "Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail" has illustrated a more 'romantic' version of what it actually takes to thru-hike the PCT...or even sections of it.

Hopefully there won't be any serious injury to the "pie-in-the-sky" trail user embarking on this magnificent adventure....

I'd watch out for noobs out there...they may not know what a serious situation is until it's too late.

Seriously, people can't make it past Hauser Creek without needing a rescue?

Are all these water caches and trail angels giving people a false sense of security? Are thrus worrying too much about how they're going to charge their gadgets and less about basic survival on the trail?

What's going on out there?
