READ THE BLIPPING ARTICLE.!!

TWO days later the suspect attempted the carjacking and stabbed victim in Kennedy Meadows which is in Tulare County, some 35-40 miles from Pearsonville, which is just barely in Inyo County. The north half of the street at the Shell station is in Inyo County. They south half of the street, if there is one, is in Kern County, about 30 feet away.

The article you posted doesn't match the description you gave.

The attack in the article was was not in Kennedy Meadows, it was in a
gas station in Pearsonville, on HWY 395, the highly traveled road
between Mammoth Lakes, and Los Angeles. The victim in the article was
an employee of the gas station, not a visitor from Florida.

It is a shame that he was attacked, but i'm glad he is OK, and that
they caught the perp.

friend through the Florida Trail Association. Russ (age 67) had driven his
truck with slide-in camper from Orlando to Kennedy Meadows to acclimate before
his permitted hike of the John Muir Trail. He was so excited about this hike
and trip, even being thrilled that he had a camping permit for Kennedy Meadows.
He is okay, but had to have more than 100 stitches. His girlfriend here reports
that he's elated because he survived the attack. Not sure yet if he's still
going to try the hike.
