Dona and I hiked from Stevens Pass to Suiattle Pass a week ago and there are areas of heavy brush and poor tread to go along with the good parts. It seems many of the downed trees are getting cut out but there will be some.
Just sayin

> No significant problems with trail - it is mostly in good shape. Just a few patches of snow left at places - the only one requiring special caution is ~20 ft stretch on north side at top of Fire Creek Pass, but with care can be crossed safely without ice axe when snow is soft. There is blowdown in several places, most notably around Janus Lake and both sides of Pass Creek but all can be crossed without much difficulty. Crew working north from Stevens Pass had cleared everything up to Union Gap when I came through on 2 Aug. They plan to continue working north. Trail is brushy in places, especially north side of Milk Creek, but another crew is brushing the trail there now. A third WTA crew is working north from White Pass shoring up the trail on places. Thank you all.
