A very interesting and potentially helpful Ap. However. 

I can get only portions of the NoCal data to load. The southern half is not visible at all. 

It would also be helpful to NOT have any additional map background downloads to be a toggle option within the ap. Check out the Halfmile PCT ap. It has an off line mode and a gps toggle to save on battery life.
