Puddles, I think you could find hikers that hike south out of the KO to the
border, but most get rides to the border (readily available at the KO) and
start hiking north. If I were doing it I would arrive at the KO late
Thursday afternoon (you will be on your own for dinner unless someone is
hosting a free hiker feed), then get a ride to the border on Friday am (also
readily available at the KO) and slack pack back to the KO. Without a full
pack you will get back to the KO in time for dinner. Then on Saturday
partake of all that the KO has to offer (vendors, classes, meeting other
hikers, etc., then head north from the KO on Sunday.

I-Beam

Subject: [pct-l] Hikers Leaving Kick-Off

I want to hike from the Border to Mt. Laguna after/during the Kick Off this
year. I would kinda like to leave with the thru-hikers in the morning on
Sunday and start my hike. My question is, on Sunday morning after the KO do
most thru's leave from Lake Morena and head South, or do they get rides to
the border and start from there?
Thanks!
Puddles
