Hi Daniel,
I haven't yet done the long trip on the PCT, but can recommend a Canon
Digital Elf -- put it in a little close fitting leather case and you can
slip it in your front pants pocket. The charger weighs nothing, and you can
charge the battery once in a while when you are in town. The photos it
takes are great and you'll never notice it as a burden. I always stick it
in my pocket while backpacking and have really enjoyed the photos I've
taken. You won't be sorry to have taken any -- it's all SO beautiful! My
best source for cameras is Beach Camera -- on-line prices are great and
they are very trustworthy. I've purchased about 4 cameras from them.
