Dicentra,
A bit harsh!
As we age each individual has differing degrees of ability and disability
and it is paramount that we know our limits.
I realize that, at your age, it is difficult to comprehend slowing down or
possibly not even being able to  hike anymore but it happens.
I am not able to do what I did at age 40 but I know my limits. We are
products of our genetics and not all of us are "Billy Goat."
I hope you will save this thread and read it again in 25 or 30 years when
you reach our age. Only then will you realize how insensitive your "*I call
BS*" comment truly is.
