[pct-l] Sequoia Side Trip

There are two Giant Sequoia groves in Yosemite, Patrick, but I don't know
how far they are from the PCT (my son's the hiker; Huff Daddy and I are the
logistics team). One way to get around distance issues would be to do your
Half Dome and/or Clouds Rest thing and then take one of Yosemite's shuttle
busses closer to the grove of your choice. The shuttles are free. You could
ask the rangers at Tuolumne or Half Dome how to get there using the
shuttles.

Surely more experienced voices on the list will weigh in as well.

Hi All,
On the subject of side trips again, are there any groves of sequoias or
redwoods along the PCT that would make for a convenient side trip? The main
ones all seem to be on the western edge of the Sierras and therefore not in
easy hiking distance from the PCT.
