This is simply NOT a true statement.

First off - there is nothing "illegal" or "legal" about any stove.

There are varying levels of restrictions placed on open flames due to
the local fire hazards. At certain times, in certain locations, there
may, or may not be, restrictions on a particular stove's use.

Sometimes it is not permissible to use a Jetboil, just like sometimes
it is not permissible to use an alky stove

As someone who was once very close to a Gaz Bleuet compressed gas
stove becoming a spectacular flame thrower spinning wildly, it is
obvious to me that there are risks from any kind of open flame.

Lets all be safe and sane out there, and stop spreading un truths.
