While I suspect the first few replies on your dog question made you defensive, please know that you have gotten seriously sage advice from Trail Royalty and the Cream of this Listserve.  If you want to make a thru attempt, leave your dog somewhere safe.  If you can't leave your dog, then postpone your thru attempt until he dies.
