[pct-l] advantages of section hiking: hypothermia on hat creek rim

If I had a dog, I could take him with me on the Hat Creek Rim this coming
weekend and both of us would be relatively comfortable compared to normal -
highs only 75 in Burney and 70 in Old Station, lows in the 30's.

Of course there's a downside - a chance of showers. Imagine, hypothermia on Hat Creek Rim.

We'd still have to deal with all the stickery things that grow there.
Maybe Dirty Girl needs to investigate dog boots as a market.

For section hiking, food, water, even shelter from storms fades in
significance compared to the real problem: the car shuttle.

But I think I've got that under control this time.

Burney Falls is the same all year every year, but I am curious about what
Rock Creek Falls will be like this year. A little bit of section O to
make up for Lassen being off limits right now. Thanks to Yogi's book,
I know not to be tempted to slide from the upper pool to the lower.
Might be too early in the year for that anyway.
