Forget about the fence...I carried one on my horse for several years....Moose totally ignore it (Tetons), deer just jump over it or go right through it, bears ignore it (Ouachita Mtns) AFTER getting mad. Not worth the effort if there is a strong smell the animals are following. Good for holding a horse, though (if it isn't frightened by a bear!)
