This may sound odd but I hope they don't re-route the trail to bypass
Antelope Valley. I really enjoyed hiking on the aqueduct and experiencing
HikerTown. Those were highlights of my trip.

No trail has been built. It will be years before this happens, if ever.
One of the problems is that it is not just the Tejon Ranch that owns the
property. Much of the projected route northeast of the Tejon Ranch property
consists of multiple private parcels that will require the property owner to
grant an easement. Rumor is that at least a few of them have no intention
of doing so. No point in building new trail if it doesn't connect back to
the current trail somewhere.

Are there any updates on rerouting the trail through the Tejon Ranch?
There was a big fan fare a few years ago when the ranch announced that they
would do it. Has any trail been actually built? Are there any quesses when
this will actually happen? At the time of the announcement I worried that
the announcement was just a publicity stunt on the part of Tejon Ranch to
get approval to develop some of their lands instead of an actual commitment
which would result in actual trail development. Of course this is likely a
result of my finely tuned skeptecism of large corporations.
