By the way, 
Pie Town, 
NM, 
is close to the CDT, 
and the land is cheap, 
mostly because it’s primary purpose is to hold the world together and nothing more. 
The lightning field art installation is nearby, 
as is a large array (SETI like) antenna field.
The Gila Wilderness, 
and the Aldo Leopold Wilderness, 
isn’t too far from Pie Town either.  
Oh, 
I almost forgot to mention that great pies can be had in Pie Town, 
hence the name.. 
Sounds like you’re probably hip to most if not all of these attractions. 
You can actually find / buy land there that has the CDT, 
either crossing it, 
or bordering it. 
How cool is that? 
I’m thinking... 
CDT trail angel-ing might be in your future???
