It  IS an organized event. These folks do a lot for the hiking community. It is not at the beginning of the trail, it is NOT JUST for thru hikers (as the ADZ has almost come to be). Why is it so hard for people to follow a calendar/schedule? In a thru hikers planning and scheduling his stops, drops, etc. are organized before he/she leaves home.. If his schedule shows he happens to be at Cascade Locks while the event is going on, that’s fun timing. If not, say Hi and keep going. Come on folks, this is just another reason hikers should do all the reading they can and know what a schedule is. Other than that, it’s not rocket science.
