[pct-l] Black Diamond Distance FL poles 2012- defective?

I bought a pair of the BD distance FL poles in January, the 2012 model.  The lower section became almost impossible to separate, especially after using them in the rain.  No corrosion or dirt in the joint.  Black diamond customer support said they could be defective so I returned them (to original seller) and received a pair of the 2013 poles.  The internal connector has been modified in the 2013 model so I think there was a design problem with these poles.  Also the adjustment clamp was changed from plastic to metal.  Weight is very similar.  If anyone else has similar poles, you should look at getting them replaced under warranty.
