[pct-l] Straw?

We carry a short piece of tubing that is insurance against a broken tent 
pole. We slip it over the break. It's not perfect, but it gets us to town.

Now it will be dual purpose!

I've been reading with interest the posts about straws.  I wonder if a short
piece of flexible tubing might work as well and perhaps even be be better by
being able to bend as needed to get to tight spots.   Also wouldn't have to
worry about it getting bent or crushed in a pack.
