I got 700+ miles out of mine this summer. I expect to wear them 2 days then wash. I always turn them inside out to wash. And I hand prewash them before throwing machine when I get to town. That's from experience when I hand washed them after the machine one time. This is especially important because of the volcanic soil once you get to the Sierras all the way to Canda
I use short ones and WONDERFUL DIRTY GIRL GAITERS. That way I have purple feet --what could make a hiker happier.

Two questions tho, I tried the short ones that just cover my foot and don't go too far up the ankle. Should I stick with those or buy the ones that go up the calf? Secondly, how many miles can I expect out of a pair? Til now I was using plain cheap men's polyester dress socks but was chewing thru those in 20-30 miles!! I hope the Injinji are more durable!
